is nothing sacred - part 5 (the unsatisfying conclusion)
Friday, October 9th, 2009I’ve a passion for Business and keep looking for good articles. Today, I checked if I could find more info by entering ‘marketing advertising’ in Google and found this:
I swear on all that is holy that Im not being facetious, but theres something to be said for having my personhood reduced to a very specific marketing n iche. … Its been almost 30 years of relentless advertising to kids, and now those kids are parents, and the exact same advertisements still work:…Read everything you can about advertising and media and marketing…. Did you know that GI Joe didnt even bother to advertise in most of the coastal states?& … So while GI Joe was only marketed in red states, Where the Wild Things Are has the New Yorker audience wrapped around its little finger….
What do you think of that?
Explaining what you do in five minutes
If the market gap is easy to overcome, then the audience will question whether you can build any kind of sustainable competitive advantage. … This is where you can drop the names of competitors to show you know them, and know why youl l beat them….The first thing you need to do is set the stage. What industry are you in? What market are you servicing? … This is where you mention comparables other companies that did well in an adjacent space, or who have had success in this space but arent competitors….You cant hone your pitch: At an event like this, youre speaking to investors, employees, competitors, and advisors. … Basically, you know your own product so well, you forget that others dont know anything about your market or technology….
I decided to blog this result under ‘Usenet search engine’. Let me know what you think of this…
